Cobra Kai star William Zabka teases movie trilogy after episode


When Cobra Kai finally comes to an end, the story may continue in a new trilogy of feature films.



There seems to be more to come from the world of Cobra Kai as we release Season 5 on Netflix soon. The series, which originally premiered on YouTube, premiered its first two seasons before moving to Netflix. In its new streaming homepage, the show has released two more seasons, with Season 5 coming to the platform on September 9.

Given the show's continued popularity, it seems likely that it will be renewed for a sixth season. It's certainly been a long shot for shows on Netflix, which is known for frequently cancelling popular shows early. Could it be season 6 already over, or will the Cobra Kai train keep rolling for a while?

Series star William Zabka has some ideas. Speaking regarding the show's endgame with ComicBook.com, Zabka confirms that there are tentative plans in situ for a way to finish the series, however it's still unclear what number seasons it'll want get to it point. The actor conjointly says that there'll still be additional for fans to seem forward to once elapid snake Kai is over, as he believes that a triplet of flicks are following the series.

Ralph Macchio Has Also Teased an Extended Karate Kid Universe



We can see this all forming a cinematic Karate Kid universe very similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Ralph Macchio also hinted that there are some early plans to explore the world as Cobra Kai offers various spin-off opportunities. This could include legacy characters such as Patterson Tian's origin story of Mr. Miyagi, and even more to do with the young warrior in Cobra Kai. As he told ComicBook.com:

"What's been created, there's now a kind of Karate Kid movie universe where Cobra Kai is the focal point, and when it lands that day, there are other areas to draw from. I mean, is there any...is there a Miyagi origin story? Was there a Cobra Kai prequel before The Karate Kid? Are there any spinoffs involving some young actors in those characters? Who knows? But we haven't finished that long because we have a chance to actually bring it in. As long as it develops organically , these people who write the show really have the pulse."
